Wabbits
Two weeks ago a friend, Greg Perry, was in town for a few days before taking off to Colorado for his job. He had recently refinished the wood stock on his high powered pellet gun and decided he wanted to test it out. After a few phone calls to the right people we decided we would do some rabbit hunting. We spent Wednesday morning chasing rabbits around the mountains. We saw a total of about 5 jack rabbits. But they are just too fast! We weren't able to get any shots off but we had a great time running around the mountains. We found some clay pigeons and did some target practice. We also got stuck in a pretty good downpour that afternoon. Luckily, we were by our car for protection.
We found a rabbit hut but no rabbits in it. We also accidentally ran over a pretty cool looking snake on the way out there.
Open House
Last weekend we spent in California. It was a fun-packed weekend. We did some Jet Skiing, Mongolian Barbecue, and an Open House celebration of our last month. It was sooooo great to see family and friends. So many people in our lives have helped us to become who we are today.
We loved visiting with many mentors, friends, and associates. Thanks to all who came!
From my teenage infatuation with red meat specifically "London Broil" I decided early on that I wanted a big "Steak Cake" instead of a wedding cake at my reception. I thought, "well, you need to feed a lot of people, and nobody likes the wedding cake anyways. Why not make it a wedding steak instead. Everybody loves steak and it will feed everyone!" I thought it was a brilliant idea. I found the longer I lived and the more I discussed with friends, dates, and family they would tell me it was not so good of an idea. But to my surprise, my wonderful mother decided to surprise me at our open house. George Kidd is in my opinion a "professional barbacuer". He made 3 or 4 london broil steaks and stack them to form a cake. The icing was sauteed mushrooms with a hint of mashed potatoes to border the steak cake. On top of the cake was a plastic bride and groom. The groom is holding a fishing pole hooking the bride below. To my surprise, a steak cake for my wedding!
I was able to meet up with some of my best friends. From left to right we have Me, Nathan Poppleton, Brandon and Cameron Lungren, and Tommy and Ariana McCann. They were so great to come and share this special time with me. Thanks guys!

The Gomm's (whose house is where we had the open house) have an old MG kit car that they decorated and let us drive off into the sunset in. Thanks Gomm's for everything you did to make this a memorable experience!
Day Trip to the Mountains
We owe it to the mountains to spend some time up there. I have never been to American Fork Canyon so we took yesterday afternoon to check it out. There are some beautiful mountains out there! There are some nice creeks and beautiful little lakes up there. Unfortunately, the alpine loop was closed until June. We will just have to go back up there in June to see the rest of the canyon.
We owe it to the mountains!
