So Thanksgiving for me has always been a 3-day holiday. The day before is PIE DAY. You make pies all day. The day of Thanksgiving is EAT DAY. And the day after is DECORATE DAY-where the Christmas music comes out and so do all of the decorations. We stuck to the first two days pretty great, but we decorated tonight (just a day or two late from my family tradition.)

Chris was super excited, and since the pie was just for him, he got some on pie day!
Pie day resulted in 5 different "pies." I put quotes on pies because technically apple crisp isn't pie. And we make pumpkin without the crust cause it's easier and well, who needs extra calories from crust when you can get extra calories from extra whip cream? What was fun is after we ate dinner, it was like fill a plate with different pies....like a whole other meal. Oh so yummy. We made coconut cream, banana cream, apple crisp, pumpkin, and chocolate silk. Mmmmm....this is why Thanksgiving rocks!

So Ty's b-day landed on Thanksgiving this year. (Along with his cousin Charlie and my dear Grandma Sorensen and my good friend Lizzie Heiselt.) We put balloons on the floor of his room, made some balloon animals and put them in the living room, put up streamers in the doorways and a happy birthday sign. When Ty woke up, it felt like Christmas....we were so excited for him. We heard him saying the usual, "Mommy" for me to come and get him and then he stops and says, "Ooooh...what is this?" And then says, "BALLOONS!!!" He was so excited, and we were too! We spent the morning playing with Ty and having him open a gift or two. So fun to have our little one so big! We are already proud of our little birthday boy. He has a really funny qwirk right now though-he is afraid of "FUZZIES." He won't touch anything that has a fuzzy on it...it's hilarious. He panics and freezes and even cries! Chris and I laugh and then try to be caring parents but still teach him that fuzzies are harmless...so far we aren't successful.
