Yellowstone/Tetons - May 2018

We just LOVE going up and staying with Buddy and Tessa and doing the Yellowstone/Tetons thing.  It's so fun to be with fun friends doing incredibly fun things!  We kept a running tally day by day of the animals we saw.  It was such an incredible trip!  We saw SO MANY cool creatures! Antelope, rockchucks, geese, eagle, buffalo, grizzlies (3 in the wild!!!) herds of elk, sandhill cranes, moose, hawks, marmots, frogs, wolves, peregrine falcon, grey owls, black bears, rough legged hawks, coyotes, etc!

This is the visitor's center in Jackson Hole on the National Elk Refuge.

Dinner at The Mangy Moose...the food was about as good as the title....

Big Horn Sheep!

We were enjoying checking out the Big Horn Sheep and it was funny because the Asian Tourists would take pictures of the sheep and then turn their cameras on our family....funny!

On our hike to Moose Ponds...there was a MOOSE.  Right. There.

Wraith Kings

There were two bull elk right off of the road.  Love the velvet horns!  Also - after Wraith we stopped at Petrified Tree where there was a gorgeous blackbear eating grass in the meadow.  SO COOL to see these things up close!  We also saw Grizzly and Elk right off the road along with a lot of buffalo and antelope.

Tessa and Buddy made us German Pancakes!  YUMMY Breakfast!

We spent a day with Buddy and Tessa and their friends at Palisade Lake near Swan Valley. There was a gorgeous Eagle in one of the trees across the lake from us.  So majestic!

On this trip, Tate learned the word MOOSE and he said it at least 50 times a day!

Kids had SO MUCH FUN!

Palisade Paradise!

We stopped in for some SQUARE ice cream on our way home!

Who's tummy is bigger!?!

Cookie making!

Flower princess.  She picked flowers and had Tessa put them in her hair.

We spent a few hours up at Buddy's Outdoors For Youth camp.  What an incredible thing he has done on this property!  It was a crazy-stressful time as he has prepared for the camp to start.  So excited for him to live his dream!

As we were checking out the amphitheater on the property, I looked over at Tate and he had rocks in his hands, like always....or so I thought.  I very quickly noticed that he had a "rock" in his mouth...but he chewed it and got the yuck look...he was holding moose poop and EATING it.  SO GROSS!!!!

Hiking up in the beautiful mountains of Idaho!

More Yellowstone!

The GRAND Canyon of Yellowstone.  For some reason, this place speaks to me.  It's as incredible to me as wildlife and more inspiring!

TETONS!

The Tetons were mostly covered in clouds during out trip...but we got 'em!

This trip was awesome.  We are so grateful for God's creations, His protection, and blessing us with meaningful relationships.  This was one for the books!
